Charles Trent Limited has announced the appointment of Jonnie Iles as its new Sales and Marketing Director, strengthening the senior leadership team as the business continues its next phase of growth and evolution.
With a career spanning senior sales, marketing and commercial leadership roles, Jonnie brings extensive experience in aligning commercial strategy with operational delivery, digital performance and customer experience. His appointment reflects Charles Trent’s continued focus on building scalable, future-ready capabilities while staying true to its family-owned values and long-established reputation.
Jonnie has built his career in fast-moving, complex environments where sustainable growth, clarity of process and strong customer relationships are critical. He has held a number of senior roles with end-to-end responsibility for sales and marketing performance, revenue growth, channel strategy and team leadership, consistently balancing hands-on delivery with long-term strategic direction.
Speaking about his appointment, Jonnie said:
Charles Trent has an incredible combination of heritage, scale and opportunity. From my first visit, it was clear the business genuinely embraces innovation while staying true to its family culture and values. The chance to help shape the next chapter of a market-leading organisation like this was incredibly compelling.
Founded a century ago, Charles Trent Limited has grown into one of the UK’s most established and respected vehicle recycling and recycled parts businesses. The company is widely recognised for its operational capability, investment in technology, and commitment to setting high standards across the sector.
Reflecting on the business, Jonnie added:
What stood out immediately was the depth of expertise and pride across the organisation. The fact that many team members have been with the business for decades is a real testament to the culture and leadership. There is a strong sense of responsibility that comes with being part of a family-run company of this heritage, and that’s something I’m proud to be joining.
In his role as Sales and Marketing Director, Jonnie will initially focus on listening, learning, and gaining a detailed understanding of how the business operates day-to-day, before moving quickly to practical improvements that strengthen commercial performance. Over the coming 6 to 12 months, his priorities will include taking end-to-end responsibility for sales performance and marketing effectiveness, aligning both functions around clear commercial goals, and strengthening digital channels, data-led decision making and end-to-end customer journeys.
Looking ahead, Jonnie said:
Success for me is a confident, aligned and empowered team, clearer ways of working, and customers genuinely feeling the benefit of a more joined-up experience. By better aligning sales, marketing, operations and digital capability, I believe Charles Trent can continue to raise industry standards and be recognised nationally, and ultimately internationally, as one of the most commercially effective and customer-focused businesses in the sector.
Jonnie’s appointment reflects Charles Trent Limited’s focus on strengthening its commercial leadership alongside its long-established operational capability, ensuring the business continues to evolve how it engages customers and markets without losing the culture that defines it.
As the business enters its centennial year, Charles Trent Limited continues to align its future goals, processes and people in response to a changing and increasingly complex market. By strengthening sales and marketing capability at board level, the business is positioning itself for its next phase of growth while remaining firmly rooted in its family-run ethos, combining a modern commercial mindset with the values that have shaped the company for nearly 100 years.
Jonnie’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for Charles Trent Limited, as the business continues to invest in its people, facilities and digital platforms to support long-term, sustainable growth.
